last night was my first team practice since i got on the team. it was exhilerating. i immediately felt like the girls accepted me as a teammate instead of a siren. yet they still understood that im a rookie. we did some amazing strategy skills that ive never seen before. i did the drills well, but at the end of the night i felt and still do feel a little discouraged. its not that i cant do the drills, its just that i dont know when to implement them during scrimmages. i also dont know when i would switch to something else, and if i should switch, what should i switch to???? being surrounded by girls who know what they’re doing is awesome because it gives me an opportunity to learn, but i feel like now im going to be playing catchup for a looooooong time. i hate to be the one thats dragging everyone down because they dont know what they are doing. they seem to be really understanding, and i guess a lot of them went through the same thing that im going through now. i think i really should just have patience and believe that i will get to that level.
.
…don’t dream it.. beeEEEee it..

Don’t sweat it. Your pivot and/or bench coach should be screaming at you about what plays to do during scrimmages. That’ll help you learn when to do what, and before you know it, you’ll have that innate sense that all the other girls seem to have.
