When I watch a sport that’s not derby
Watched the live LA derby dollz vs San Diego derby dollz feed last night. Carmen Getsome was on fire it was awesome to watch her jam against Bonnie Thunders. It was a fantastic game, and pretty close for a few jams too. The LA derby dollz really worked well together and did an amazing job at holding Thunders.
Tonight’s scrim was really rad. It may have been that the pink team had 4 players who they’ve never played with, (players who dont know the game that well too) but my team worked really well together tonight. It wasn’t the BEST scrim for me (I made a few mistakes, and I didn’t communicate as much as I usually do) but I felt that we did really amazing despite my few downfalls. I had a few great moments, but I also had a few shitty ones. I found that lately I’m falling a lot more than usual from hits (even small hits) which is weird for me. I really wanted to blame it on the fact that my wheels are old, my trucks are too tight and my cushions are too soft.. but really its because I’m not impacting a hit. I’m not hitting back or leaning back. I need to work on this. But I don’t feel bad about it. I just know that its something I need to work on. All in all tonight felt awesome, and I think next scrim will be even better.
