I totally pulled a Beyonslay tonight!
*NEW PERSONAL VICTORY*
trying to find a certain gif … its of one blocker holding back a jammer and doing an amazing job at it. she does a lot of transitions and booty blocking. anyone know where i can get it?
That bout was soooo awesome. My team seriously pulled it together. After almost a whole year of losses we found our stride and worked our asses off. We played OUR GAME. Not once did we even mention what the other team was doing. We focused on US. It was the first bout where we truly pulled our awesome together. It wasn’t just a few awesome players pulling a few awesome moves. (Although there was plenty of that.) We won because we played TOGETHER. Very cohesive. Our recycling and sense of urgency was through the roof. Our defense was amazing. Our jammers were ON all game. But I think the best thing about this bout was that NO ONE was ejected and no one was injured. Sure we all have some bumps and bruises, but there wasn’t a single jam that was stopped due to an injury. Fucking amazeballz.
Don’t worry… it doesn’t hurt… to watch.
Texas Rollergirls new video campaign.
I just…. why didn’t I think of that.
this is amazing
sometimes after scrimmage i wish that my whole team could just give me insight about what i did well and what i need to work on. my selfish thought is: enough with what “we need to work on..” tell me what I need to do.
Ready to Jamm
this photo is awesome.
back in july of this year we played a home game against a great team called NDC based out of port orchard. we lost, but i was given the title MVP. when i joined roller derby i didn’t have a lot of confidence and there were some vets people that didn’t help with that. (they’re gone now). to earn an MVP title this year meant the world to me. when i received the title, i cried. for any of those out there who feel low about their skills at the moment, just remember that you will get better. you will have the moment you dream of. i promise. the awesome just keeps coming.
From Derby News Network: After going up 100-38 in the first half, 4 seed London lost their whole lead in the second but managed to take it back and then hold off a fierce last jam rally from 5 seed Rose City to win 193-190. At the end of the game, emotions were running somewhat high, as captured by Dave Wood here.
